About the Role
We are seeking multiple Aquaculture Workers to support our seasonal harvest at our prawn farm in Ayr, with immediate starts available
You will be required to complete a range of manual handling and reporting activities including, but not limited to:
- Maintaining animal wellbeing in accordance with farm protocols including acclimatisation and water quality
- Completing routine feeding as per established schedules
- Monitoring water quality and ensure water quality is within desired biological parameter to maximise stock health
- Ensuring aeration operation for all production ponds, conduct water exchanges as requested, and check pond edges of all production ponds
- Routine husbandry activities
- Preparation and maintenance of stocking equipment
- Completing larvae transfers
- Completing ‘dry out’ tasks as necessary, including
- Earthworks
- Repairs and maintenance to existing facilities (jetties, inlets, screens)
- Settlement pond dry out maintenance
These positions are labour intensive and applicants must be physically able to carry out a range of repetitive bending and lifting tasks on unsealed access roads.
